At Lumos, we believe in not just providing power but in igniting a movement of change and empowerment. The Lumos Academy stands as a testament to this belief, training dedicated individuals to become Lumos Partners in Nigeria and Lumos Delegates in Côte d’Ivoire, bringing light and hope to communities, whether they’re connected to the grid or not. This programme has proven to be transformative, both for the individuals who participate and the communities they touch.
A Diverse and Inspiring Cohort
The Lumos Academy attracts a diverse and dynamic group of individuals eager to make a difference. At the last few Academies, we saw a total of 6 women, including Lumos Côte d’Ivoire’s CEO, work to put together the Academies, each one bringing their unique skills, experiences, and aspirations to the programme. Under the guidance of our skilled mentors and trainers, the participants embarked on a journey of personal and professional growth. We are proud to highlight that after 8 Academies in Nigeria and 2 in Côte d’Ivoire so far, there have been 456 participants in the former and 78 in the latter so far, out of which 89 women have so far successfully completed the Academy, showcasing the transformative potential of our initiatives in driving gender equality and leadership development across the region.
Learning and Growing Together
During their time at the Academy, participants gained invaluable insights into solar energy solutions, community engagement, and sustainable development. The training covered a range of topics, from the technical aspects of solar power systems to effective communication, sales and leadership skills. In between the sessions, participants were able to relax and socialise together, while enjoying the meals provided. A Lumos Academy graduate from Nigeria raved that “The environment, the treatment and everything, it’s not just going to help me about Lumos business, it’s going to help me in my personal life (...) and in my teachings. Lumos has woken up the sleeping talents in me.” While another noted that “This is the higher company standard.” The immersive experience equipped our new Partners and Delegates with the knowledge and confidence needed to implement Lumos solutions in their communities effectively.

One graduate mentioned that “The Lumos Academy has opened me up to a new world of possibilities. My finances have greatly improved, putting me in control of my lifestyle, my time and my Lumos business.” While another said that “The Lumos Academy really helped develop my entrepreneurial skills and helped me grow my wealth. My life has been completely transformed since I graduated from the Academy. In two weeks of completing the Lumos Academy and joining the Lumos Partner Network, I earned close to N300,000 as my incentives.”
